Reggae dancehall rising star Jah Vinci and former business partner Corey Todd are the latest to exist the controversial Gaza Empire headed by Dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel. It’s been widely rumored that artists within the group were subjected to physical abuse and threats, while former business partner Corey Todd recently stated his life has been threatened. Last year two of Gaza’s most recognized artist Black Ryno & Gaza Kim had left the Gaza Empire. Some in the media have made claims Gaza has become the “Deathrow” of Dancehall and that Kartel’s entourage operations much like Suge Knight’s and Deathrow Records did in the 90’s when dealing with its members. In other news, Kartel’s highly controversial ‘Cake Soap’ which is used for bleaching of the skin has sold out in various parts of Jamaica. “Since we did the advert in the newspaper, the first batch, which was well over 2,000, has disappeared,” Vybz Kartel said. “We didn’t anticipate that the units would move so quickly.” Just as it appears Gaza is fallen apart, Vybz Kartel still hails as the most popular artist in Jamaica.

Jay Z escorted by cops.... Guess security couldnt get in the club

Put Jay-Z under the latest celebrity list to be put under investigation for receiving a police escort. Last month Diddy caught flack over receiving a police escort in New York City following his Diddy-Dirty money tour now word is that Hov is being eyed for receiving a similar escort while in Washington D.C. The DCPD is investigating Hov along with celebrities Bill Gates and Charlie Sheen to see if the celebs received unauthorized escorts, who is specifically for “presidents, vice presidents, visiting heads of state, mayor and others, if there's a public safety issue.”

GOD FATHER OF RAP DIES... RIP GIL SCOTT- HERON

Chicago born artist Gil Scott-Heron also known as the “Godfather of Rap,” as his poetry and songwriter skills helped inspire the development of rap music has died at age 62. Scott-Heron died on Friday at a New York hospital. He fell ill after returning from a trip to Europe, according to Reuter. Scott-Heron became a urban icon with his groundbreaking spoken-word performances set to music, including "The Revolution Will Not be Televised" in the early 1970s. Next to James Brown, Scott-Heron has been hailed as an important influence by rap artist such as Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Common, Ice Cube, Public Enemy, KRS-One and Kanye West. Considered a voice of African-American activism, Scott-Heron may be gone but his music will live on. R.I.P,Gil Scott-Heron- April 1, 1949 – May 27, 2011.

Philly rapper and actress Eve recently weighs in on the publicized beef between Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj. Eve said although she respect for Kim, she thinks the Queen Bee is investing too much time in her nemesis. “I need her to stop. If I was Kim’s friend, I’d be like, yo. Because she’s Kim, period,” Eve said in an interview. “So she never has to feed. She shouldn’t. It’s bad. It’s not a good look. If I was her friend, I’d tell her, yo, just come back bigger and better. The best way to get at people is to do you better than you’ve ever done you. So that’s it…I love it. You know, it’s definitely a nice group of females that’s out representing, but because I come from hip-hop, I need more females in hip-hop,” she continued. “Nicki definitely is holding the flag down, and a lot of people are wanting me to hate just because that’s how girls supposed to do in hip-hop, but I’m loving everything she does. But we need more females, man. There’s too much testosterone in the hip-hop game.”
